The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two differentcountries.

The line graph illustrates how water was used among several fields over the world from 1900 to 2000, whereas the table compares differences in how Brazil and Congo consumed water in 2000.

Overall, it can be seen from the figure that the demand of Agriculture for water was considered the highest of all genres while in Industry and Domesticity, use of water was relatively low and shared certain similarities over the period. In 2000, Brazil was perceived to overtake Congo all categorizes concerning population, irrigated land and water consumption per person.

A more detailed look at the graph reveals that the rate of water use for Agriculture increased slowly from 500km3 in 1900 to 1000km3 in 1950. After that it started to grow significantly in the following decades reaching its peak at roughly 3000km3. Meanwhile, Industry and Domesticity almost had the same consumption of water at under 100km3 from 1900 to 1950 and then they both experienced a moderate surge in the second phase at 1100km3 and 400km3 respectively.
