The maps present the transformation of West Park Secondary School after having been constructed in 1950.
Overall, the secondary school was expanded. However, the main building of school and the playground remained.
Between 1950 and 1980, three houses which were on the left of the school were replaced with a car park and a science block. Behind them , the area that used to be farmland was converted into sports field.The playground remained behind the main building of the school.
From 1980 to 2010, while the location of science block was the same, the car park was extended to the whole area which formerly included sports field.Therefore, the sports field was relocated to the locality of playground. This ground was still in the old position but it was narrowed.
