The bar graph compares the percentage of 5 age groups donating for charity in Britain in 2 years, 1990 and 2010.
Overall, the older the British were, the more they gave money for donation. The 20-year period witnessed a decline in the proportion of the young group joining in charity donations while it was a rise in the 51-and-over-year-old groups.
It is clear that in 1990, the donations received the majority funds from 36-50-year-olds with about 42%, followed by the 51-65-year-old group with exactly 35%. In the age from 26 to 35 years old and from 65 years old, the figures were around 31-32%. The least proportion was about 17% for the 18-25-year-olds.
20 years later, both the number of 26-35 and 36-50-year-old group underwent a 7% decrease to under a quarter and precisely 35%, respectively. There was a sharp dip in the youngest group by 10%, standing at 7% in the latter year.
Meanwhile, the rate for British from 50 years old and above sending money to charity funds climbed slightly. An increase of 4% made the age from 51 to 65 be the group contributing most for charity with approximately 40%. The oldest shared the same level with the 36-50-year-olds after a small growth.
