The bar chart shows data on export’s value in 3 main sectors in Southland in 2000, 2017 and its expectation in 2025.

Overall, it is International tourism and Milk products that has its value rise over time although only the first one is predicted to grow in the future.

As can be seen from the graph, in 2000, Southland received its export’s value most from International tourism with above 8 billion pounds, over Pound 1 billion more than dairy products. At present, this position, however, has changed. After a significant growth, the latter one has got its highest number at approximately Pound 10 billion. Meanwhile, according to the projection, while money from tourism industry will continue its gradual increase to reach the 2017 dairy products’s figure, the amount for products extracted from milk is projected to decline slightly by about Pound 2 billion.

In terms of meat products, there is a moderate decrease in its export’s value, from Pound 6 billion in 2000 to Pound 5.5 billion now and is expected to be exactly Pound 5 billion in the year 2025.
