The line graph illustrates the rate of electricity that people need on a daily basis in winter and summer in England, whilst the pie chart compares the proportion of electricity spent on 4 specific items in every English household.
Overall, the graph shows that the amount of electricity used in the winter was always at the highest point during the period shown. It is also noticeable that the largest proportion of electricity using goes to heating in each English home, followed by ovens, kettles and washing machines.
To begin with, around 35000 electricity is demanded in the winter, compared to only 18000 for the summer during less than 3 hours. There are insignificant fluctuations in both figures in the remainder of the surveyed period. During 24 hours, the ratio for winter reaches the peak of 49000 electricity, which was 29000 higher than that for the summer.
As can seen from the chart, the portion of electricity spent on heating held the first rank, at 52%, meanwhile, the share of ovens, kettles and washing machines accounted for only 18%. Besides, the percentage of using the electricity is exactly the same in the others, at less than a fifth.
