The graph compares the growth of citizens in China and India since 2000 and predicted figures until 2050Overall, there is a growth in the number of people in both China and India during the period shown. Also, India is predicted to overtake China as the most populated country in the distant future.
In the year 2000, around 1.25 billion people living in China, while the figure for India was lower, at 1 billion. In the period from 2000 to present, the quantity of India residents has remarkably risen by more than 0.3 billion to reach roughly 1.32 billion. In the meantime, there was a slight rise in the number of Chinese from 1.25 billion to just above 1.4 billion.
Analyzing the future data, both two countries’ population are expected to reach the same number of 1.24 billion in the year 2030. In the next 20 years, the quantity of inhabitants in India continuously grows until reaching a peak of around 1.6 billion in 2050. By contrast, there is likely to decrease by 0.5 billion in the figure for China.
