The line graph compares the rate of people in four different age groups who went to the cinema in Great Britain between 1984 and 2000.
Overall, It is clear that the number of cinema attendances rose throughout the period shown among all age groups. While the proportion for attendances at the cinema of the 35 and over age group is lowest, it accounted for the 15-24 age group is highest.
In 1984, the percentage of the 15-24 age group which attended the cinema was about 17%. By contrast, the figure for the 35 and over age group was appropriately 1%. About 4% and 10% of those aged 25-35 and 7-14 went to the movies, respectively. During the following years, there was a fluctuating increase in the trends for all the four age groups.
The attendances who were between 15 to 24 years old rose to a peak of 59%, but then decreased slightly to 54% in 2000. Although the proportion remained the lowest among all groups, the figure for the 35 and over group went up steadily to about 14% in 2000. In the same year, the percentage for 7-14 and 25-35 years old were the same, at 32%.Attachments:
