The first chart below gives information about the money spent by British parents on their children’s sports
between 2008 and 2014. The second chart shows the number of children who participated in three sports in
Britain over thesame time period.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make
comparisons where relevant.

The diagrams highlights the money spent by Brishtish parents on their children’s sports and compares the number of children who participated in three sports from 2008 to 2014.
Overall, the proportion of the money that Brishtish parents spent on their children’s sports went up smoothly over the period of 6 years. Besides, while Britain saw a dramatic rise of athletics and swimming, the football player rate in most years was hightest.
In 2008, Brishtish parents spent an average of 20 pounds for their children’s sporting activities per month. However, in the following years, the money for their children’s activity rapid increase, around 5 pounds each 2 years. In the 2014, the figure money for sport activity jumped significantly to approximately 33 pounds.
The percentage of participation in three sports was dramatically fluctuate, especially athletics. In 2008, there were 8 millions children played football while just below 2,5 millions children attended the activities such as athletics and swimming. Throughout the remainder of period, there was a sudden surge in athletics, which was its highest rate in 2012, about 5 millions children doing athletics. It is fivefold increase compared to 2008. In addition, the figures of children swimming growed steeply, almost doubted. By contrast, the figures for football participation remained relatively stable over the following 6 years.
