The line graph compares the amount of fast food consumed by Australian teenagers over a period of 25 years.
It is clear that hamburgers witnessed a dramatic increase throughout the period shown. Fish and chips, however, plunged and had the lowest number of eaters in 2000.
In 1975, fish and chips gained the highest number of times eaten, whereas pizza and hamburgers accounted for only about 8 and 10 times respectively. From then, both pizza and hamburgers saw a rapid rise in consumption, but fish and chips lost its power and dropped significantly. Just more than 10 years later, hamburgers overtook fish and chips to become the most favorite fast food of teens in Australia.
The number of pizza consumers also increased remarkably after 1975 and was the second choice among teenagers in 2000. At the same year, hamburgers reached a peak of 100 times consumed, just like fish and chips did in the year 1975. By contrast, the number of teenagers choosing fish and chips reduced from 100 to approximately 40 by 2000.
