The line graph provides information about average carbon dioxide emitted by each person from four selected countries comprising United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
An overview of the graph highlights the fact that both United Kingdom and Sweden had a downward trend in an average amount of CO2 emissions per person while Italy and Portugal witnessed overall growth in the same given period.In 1967, United Kingdom was regarded as the highest-ranked nation in releasing CO2 into the air. The average number of CO2 emissions collected from this country stabilised at around 11 metric tonnes from 1967 to 1977. From this point onwards, a steady drop was seen and ended at roughly 9 metric tonnes in 2007. However, United Kingdom continued to remain its position in how much CO2 was emitted. At the same time, that of Sweden rose substantially and hit the highest point of about 10 metric tonnes in 1997, but fell rapidly since then.
With regard to other attractions, different from the two mentioned countries, Italy experienced a significant rise of approximately 2 metric tonnes over the first ten years from 1967 to 1977, next the figures went up gradually and remained unchanged at nearly 8 metric tonnes in 2007. Besides, according to the graph, there was an upsurge from less than 2 metric tonnes to around 5 metric tonnes between 1967 and 1997 and its figures grew slowly from this time to 2007.
