The diagram shows the changes that have taken place at West Park Secondary School since its construction in 1950.

The diagram illustrates how the West Park Secondary school had changed since its first appearance in 1950. As can be seen from the graph, the most significant development of this school was in 1980 and 2010 with the redesigning for new structures and the shrinkage of land for outdoor activities respectively.
In the 1950, the West Park Secondary school only contained two parts: school building which sat nearby the main road and next to a residential area and a playground lying behind that construction and side-by-side with the farmland. 30 years later, this school was doubled in size – houses was struck down to give way for a car park and a new science block which directly connected to the main building. The farmland was also replaced by a new sports field for students.
In the 2010, there was a noticeable re-arrangement taken place in the school as the car park took over the sports land and was three times wider than it used to be. At the same time, the playground shared about one third of its area, the outer part for the sports field.
