      The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second charts shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy used

      The first pie chart illustrates average energy usages in Australian families, while the second pie chart shows the percentage of greenhouse gas emissions from this energy consumption.
      Regarding the energy used, the household in Australia consumed the most energy for heating and water heating system, with 42% and 30% of total energy consumption respectively. While this figure is significantly larger than that of energy requirement for cooling and lighting which is a total 6% energy. Moreover, 7% of energy is consumed in refrigeration and the remaining 15% is required for all other household appliances.
      On the other hand, water heating contributes to the highest percentage of greenhouse gas emissions which is 32%. The following are other appliances whose energy used emits 28% of greenhouse gas. The refrigeration and heating system produces almost the same amount of greenhouse gas, about 15%. While just a total of 11% gas is generated by cooling and lighting system.
