The pie charts below give information about the composition of household
rubbish in the United Kingdom in two different years. Summarise the
information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make
comparisons where relevant.Write at least 150 words.

The given chart illustrates the percentage of each type of rubbish in total
household waste in the United Kingdom between 1985 and 2002. Overall,
rubbish from British kitchens increased while other kinds decreased over
the surveyed period.It is clear that in 1985, the proportion of garbage from paper was by far
the largest, standing at 36%. 17 years later, it dropped by 20% and no
longer ranked first. By contrast, in 1985, organic waste from British
families stood at only 28%, the year 2002 experienced a nearly double
increase to 44%.In 1985, dust and cinders also accounted for a small proportion (8%) of
household rubbish; however, over 17-year-period, this kind of waste was
replaced by a new one called miscellaneous which recorded a number of 17%
in 2002. The figures for wood and plastic remained relatively unchanged at
7% and 3% respectively. The remaining types of rubbish including metals,
textiles and metals declined slightly but their proportion was always under
