The tables compare the data on the revenue of 5 nations in Europe on 2 different products: coffee and bananas through Fairtrade over 2 separate years.
Overall, the turnover in 2004 was significantly higher than that in 1999, except for the sales on bananas in Belgium and Sweden. Moreover, the highest figure for sales in both goods, in 2004 was in the UK.
In 1999, while revenue of coffee was biggest in Switzerland at 3 million euros, this number was smallest in Sweden which reached only 0.8 million euros. In collection with banana’s sales, there was a difference of 14.4 million euros between the highest number (in the UK) and the lowest (in Denmark). Total sales of other countries were similar, at an average of 1.4 million euros for coffee and 1.6 million euros for bananas.
After 6 years, there was a sharp growth in turnover of the UK by 18.5 million euros in coffee and 32 million euros in bananas. The increased range of banana’s sales of remaining countries was from 0.2 to 3 million euros. While the revenue result from selling bananas moved upward by 4.5 and 3.4 million euros in Switzerland and Denmark, respectively, but there was a slight hike of 0.8 million euros in Belgium and 1.1 million euros in Sweden.
