37. It is observed that in many countries not enough students are choosing to study science subject. What are causes? And what will be effects on society?
In several parts of the world, the lack of students majoring in science is rising faster than ever which has become the subject of increasing concern. Some specific rationales for this situation will be addressed before considering its consequences on the society.
The reasons for this matter vary. In some cases, the fact that few students take science might largely be attributed to the difficult and sophisticating characteristics of the subject. Indeed, in order to deal with Maths or Physics problems, ones are required to have such fluent logical skills such as calculating and analyzing which few youngsters acquire. In some other cases, science subjects are commonly assumed to have little applications in the actual life unlike Business and Linguistic subjects. As a matter of fact, it can be seen that during human daily basis, they barely have to tackle with issues that involve science knowledge. Therefore, the great significance of science starts to be neglected in usual activities.
However, the negative impacts of this matter are considered to severe. Firstly, the shortage of graduates in science could result in poor technological development for nations. Apparently, it turns out that the demands for smartphones and electronic devices are escalating at an alarming level. If inventions of these technologies continue to be slowly patented, the country will be sure to become obsolete and underdeveloped compared to its opponents. Secondly, companies and factories without the help of smart and advanced machines could lead to the lack of employees. In fact, a machine itself not only can produce as twice or even three times work as usual workforce but can also improve the beauty and quality of the products. Hence, the presence of technology in manufacture is beyond vital as it could boost the outcome and quality up to the mark.
To conclude, it can be concluded that it is the complexity and little applications of science subjects that is to blame. If not carefully directed and considered, the situation could do serious damages to many industries generally.
