In the modern world of rapid integration, the belief that children should commence their studying other language when still attending primary has currently been the subject of increasing concern. Many claim that the suggestion is unnecessary and should be rejected while I personally believe the benefits this brings will overtake its drawbacks.
On the one hand, it is considered that the idea would cause severe unwanted disadvantages to the young generation who are primary students. Firstly, parents might get worried and upset when their children have to confront with more pressure on study. Apparently, kids have to tackle with a diversity of subjects in their school and studying another one should be seen quite a burden as a whole. Secondly, in order to obtain a different language, children need to improve and advance their own language primarily to some extent. Indeed, acquiring a new language can be a comparatively difficult thing for the youth to deal with as it requires a relatively comprehensive cognition about surroundings. As a matter of fact, at the age of 7, one could hardly make a full complete sentence in his mother language let alone in others’.
Conversely, I would strongly argue that the advantages gained from implementing this idea are massive. Initially, vast majority of people state that learning foreign languages from little ages would always be a wise decision to make. This is largely because the younger we are, the better and faster we can acquire knowledge, especially of a literacy subject like language. Moreover, science has widely proved that taking up various languages could boost children logical and analytical thought. That way, the youngster will become brighter and smarter in dealing with practical situations.
To conclude, the matter is barely without its benefits nor downsides. However, from my perspective, letting children approach foreign languages since primary schools would allow them not only to have an easier grasp but also improve their ways of thinking in many respects.
