Chữa bài IELTS Task 2
Some people believe that tourists should accept social and environmental responsibility while others believe that tourists should not accept any responsibility at all. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Tourism contributes enormously to national income but at the same time it also has considerable influences on the locals. While some people contend that tourists do not have to hold any responsibility for the negative by-products of their touring activities, I believe that these people should be responsible socially and environmentally for their actions.
In the case of social responsibility, it is clear that the main purpose of tourists when they come to a country is to understand and experience the culture at the place that it was created. Therefore, if tourists do not follow those culture, they will not be able to fully explore the tradition of that area. Moreover, due to cultural differences, some behaviors which are normal in one country may be considered to be rude in others, then by knowing these rules, tourists can avoid offending by local people.
In terms of environment, when tourists leave litter after their visit, in the long run, the area will be polluted. It will not only affect the people who live there but also take away the chance from other tourists to visit those places as it has been contaminated. For example, when a beach is full of plastic bags and bottles, sea creatures will no longer be able to live, as a result, the biodiversity will be threatened. What is more, less visitors mean less money for the natives, this can also affect the national income. The irresponsibility of tourists can cause harm to the animals and humans, especially local people.
In conclusion, the well being of a destination is not the only responsibility of tourism sectors, it is also of the tourists. So tourists should help the natives to keep a clean and healthy environment, also before any trip, they should do research about the country they are about to visit to avoid unwanted misunderstandings.Attachments:
