Many developing countries require aid from international organizations to develop. Many people think that this aid should be financial, while others think that practical aid and advice are more useful. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
People have different views about what kind of support should wealthy nations provide for third world countries. Many people believe that international aid should be in the form of financial assistance, whereas I believe that non-financial support is a better portion for poor countries.
Financial support is beneficial in some ways. Firstly, money would instant solutions to many problems for third world countries. For example, reforming the education system including learning tools and infrastructure will cost a lot of money. This, with the financial resources, will be a much simple problem. Secondly, financial support can also be invested in healthcare and scientific research. Poor countries would be able to purchase modern technology to improve the quality of treatment or it could even make technological advances.
On the other hand, there are several reasons why practical aid and advice will benefit developing countries more. Admittedly, external monetary flow enable those countries to carry out a variety of functions immediately. This, yet, could not last long as the amount of money given will be limited. Therefore, having experts from other countries to train in the fields of science, medicine and education will provide each country with more well-educated and knowledgeable individuals who will help developing countries escape from poverty. Furthermore, there are some existing social problems such as crime and unemployment that cannot be solved solely by money but a wise policy from the government. That is when poor countries need the advice and support from experienced governments.
In conclusion, it seems evident that international organizations should help developing countries by providing them with money, however, I believe practical aid and policy will benefit third world countries in the long run as only by having sensible regulations will poor countries be able to make full use of their internal power.
