Subject 1: Computers are being used more and more in education and so there will soon be role for teacher in education.
It is argued that the prevalence of computer in education can replace the role of teachers. From my perspective, computers are a great supporter but can’t take the place of teachers in education. This essay will discuss reasons why teachers still predominate this modern technology, followed by summarized conclusion.
Firstly, in absence of teachers or tutors, interaction in class will be limited. Each student has different problems that need the different approach to tackle. Therefore, teacher can give them useful learning tips and answer the incomprehensive part of lecture, while computer is unlikely to define that. Moreover, teachers can inspire and encourage student to learn harder.
The second weakness of computer in education is that result of the study depends mostly on attitude of qualification seekers. Computer, particularly, with Internet connection, has a myriad of contents that are likely to divert student’s attention from their study. Browsing webpage for computer consume a lot of learner’s time. Therefore, this method requires high self-motivation which students usually lack of.
In conclusion, teachers still play an important role in the study of students which computers can’t totally substitute namely no-material aspects or study motivation.
