Chữa bài IELTS Task 2
Some suggest that young people should take a job for a few years between school and university. Discuss what the advantages and disadvantages might be for people who do this.
In recent years, more and more high school students decide to do a gap year instead of immediately entering university. Some people argue that this will bring them benefits while the opponents claim on drawbacks of this trend.
On the one hand, having a job beforehand has several points in its favor. Firstly, students can be more financially independent as they can obtain their own income. For example, their earned salary can be used to pay for tuition fee, necessity goods and other activities at university when they return to study. Secondly, school leavers are likely to be more mature thanks to practical skills that they acquire during paid job. Working environment will give them opportunities to widen their relationship, shape a good working manner and form responsibility.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantages that students might face when they break school at early stage. Lacking of basic knowledge will restrain them from applying for higher position in a company as students graduated from high school can only earn little money from manual work. As a result, they will loose much time to improve knowledge by themselves to adapt their job. Besides, it is difficult for students keep their studying habit when they get back university. If they cannot make the best effort to review knowledge, they will not be able to catch up with lessons in the class.
In conclusion, I believe that it depends on different people to consider keeping on studying at university or getting a job is more important.Attachments:
