Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of the society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

People have different views about who is responsible for children’s education. While family plays a central part in teaching and forming children’s view about the world, school also has a vital position to nurture the positive characteristics of the young.
On one hand, it is undoubtedly true that whether a child can grow into a good or bad citizen is mostly decided by his or her environment which depends on the parents. Knowledgeable, well-educated parents can understand the most suitable way to bring their children up successfully. The continuously, day-by-day directions and helps from who have the blood-relation is considered as more truthful and more dependable to children. From a child’s perspective, parents are the true heroes, the nearest and real role model to look up. As the closest people, parents not only take care for the children whenever they need but also can spot problems that they may get then help them to overcome the issue in the nick of time.
On the other hand, despite the uncountable love that families can have with their offspring, they are not able to follow their children forever and also not be capable of giving them a real society experience as well as teach them all necessary information. Indeed, this transmission of knowledge is effectively processed through the face-to-face interaction with teachers when children go to school. Beside practical, professional subjects, school also provide a wide range of ethical lessons and outdoor activities so that their students can grow up with both required knowledge and skills. Additionally, the imposing discipline at school can make student learn to obey the rules of the community, thus, they can comply with the law when become mature.
In conclusion, how a child could become in the future depends on efforts of both family and school in the long run. The malfunction, carelessness of any partners can therefore ruin the future of their next generation which is also the future of a country.
