Students at schools and universities learn more from lessons with teachers than from others sources (such as the Internet or television). To what extend do you agree or disagree?
Some people hold an opinion that students get more knowledge from the lessons taught by teachers than from other sources. In my opinion, I would agree with this statement to some extent due to several reasons.
On the one hand, we could not underestimate that almost our knowledge comes from the lessons taught in school. Firstly, some knowledge could not be simply found out on internet or television as it is the experiences of teachers and have not been published on the internet because of security.Secondly, there are some compulsory subjects which require practical guidelines from teachers. For example, in physical education, students need be instructed how to shape properly in the physical exercises. Finally, teachers have critical roles which could not be replaced by other sources in checking and marking mistakes of students, and students would learn some lessons thanks to these mistakes.
On the other hand, by virtue of the advancement of technology, people could access a numerous valuable information besides studying at school. To be precise, some teachers have limited or obsoleted knowledge so that it is necessary for students to find out more information on the internet which is usually up to date. Furthermore, students could not be taught all the knowledge related to the subject due to time restriction at school, however, students could access this insufficient knowledge on the internet. Last but not least, some students do not have the chance to go to school owing to financial restriction, therefore, these students would rather learning from other sources like internet or television than from school.
In conclusion, I partly agree with the statement that students learn more from lessons with teachers than other sources because of several justifications.Please kindly check my notes here, and feel free to leave comments if you have any questions. Thanks a lot.
