Intelligence is most important component for leadership. Do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion and support it with adequate examples.
Some individuals have confronted different thoughts with regard to the question whether talent should be considered as a top priority factor of leadership. To the best of my knowledge, I completely disagree with this option, as there few equally important features leader should have.
In the one hand, people should recognize that intelligence should only be regarded as one of the essential elements of a manager. In fact, in a competitive market economy, it is common that clever characteristic is not only supporting leaders to make the great decision but also assisting them to solve the problem adequately and effectively. A good case in this point is in the signing the contract with partners, controller are recommended to be judiciously and smartly to acknowledge the lawfulness, reasonableness as well as trustworthiness of contract. Moreover, brilliance also plays an important role in development leader’s creative ideas, this can improve the growth situation of the company. However, a survey indicates that intelligent leaders do not tend to do business with normal employees, resulting in a significant conflict between leader and their staff. For this reason, intelligence cannot be considered as the most vital quality of a director in social situation.
In the other hand, it is equally momentous to permit that communication competency is a necessary element for leader. To be more specific, an organization working effectively require a good relationship between superior and inferior or between leader and their partners , this is happening when leaders have strong interpersonal skills. To give a clear example, a production contract for company or employee’s respect to leader are depending heavily on the ability to negotiate of leader. Furthermore, management skill is also seen as one of the indispensable skills of director. The leader can apply their suitable power such as reward power or coercive power as well as management policy to instruct employees in achieving common goals.
In conclusion, the intelligence is very important for leadership, however this ability is not crucial. The leader should have a perfect combination many factors as outlined to contribute to the prosperity of organization.Attachments:
