Young people who commit serious crimes should be punished in the same way as adults. Do you agree or disagree?
Today, It is common debate that young crimes have to punished like adults. While there are many people believe with this view, I argue that the disadvantage of this point are more.
There is reason to make people agree about young serious crimes must be punished as adults. Increasingly young people crime when they are under 18 years old. Because, they don’t have to respond with all their activities. If their crime are simple, their parent will have to pay money and they are not punished. Even if their crime are so serious like kill someone, the regulations for them are limited. This lead to the rising of young criminal and the lack of respect about behavior. Yong people feel so easy to crime.
However, in my opinion, we need keep the regulation about the different between young and adult criminal. Firstly, it seems evident that under 18 years old, people don’t have enough knowledge to control their behavior. They still go to school to study not only science subject, but also emotional subject. So, government believe that young criminals don’t complete their development and they are effected by other aspect like environment, family’s situation easier than adult. Secondly, instead change regulations, the better way is improvement education. In fact, there are many young people go the wrong road because the education of family. Each family should care their children more, especially their character. Besides, the educational system should put more subject about society, to encourage student become a good person.
In conclusion, although there are some background of regulations between young and adult criminal, however both individual and government should change the education instead change law.
