Chữa bài IELTS Task 2
Đề BC 13 tháng 1 năm 2018 People living in large cities today face many problems in their everyday life. What are these problems? Should governments encourage people to move to smaller regional towns?
—————————————————————————————-
It is a fact that nowadays there are plenty of issues that people residing in megacities face, which could have negative impacts on health and society. Motivating people to move to smaller cities or rural areas is a good solution. There are two primary issues that should be taken into account when living in large cities. Firstly, the more the city is crowded, the more private vehicles are used, increasing the level of air pollution. Living in this environment for a long time can be detrimental to human health because an Indian study indicates that air contamination is a fundamental factor causing respiratory diseases. Secondly, there are a great number of new residents moving to big cities without any skills or qualifications, making them difficult to find jobs. Consequently, this could lead to a high unemployment rate, indirectly increasing criminal activities that threaten people’s lives.
Authorities, therefore, should encourage people to move to scattered residential areas. This measure would diminish air pollution in large cities, which can prevent health risks. To illustrate, in 2011, the Beijing government successfully adopted the policy mentioned above to diminish carbon dioxide emissions from cars, thereby reducing the risk of pneumonia and lung cancer by 60%. Additionally, living in small towns is supposed to be less competitive than in cities, it does not take residents much effort to seek stable jobs. As a result, this might reduce social evils and unemployment in cities as well as make a substantial contribution to the prosperity of local areas.
In conclusion, citizens residing in large cities tend to face a lot of health and social issues, and governments should foster people to move to smaller towns or rural areas.
