      WRITING TASK 2

With the pressures on today’s young people to succeed academically, some people believe that non-academic subjects at school (eg: physical education and cookery) should be removed from the syllabus so that children can concentrate wholly on academic subjects.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
      ———
It is true that many young people are under pressure to study well in academic fields nowadays, so some people think that it is better if non-academic subjects being removed from the curriculum. Opposite this view, I strongly believe that it is not a good solution.
On the one hand, besides academic subjects, students need learning non-academics to have comprehensive development, in mentally and physically. These subjects help teenagers not only keep fit but also have more skills to develop themselves. Some non-academic subjects like sports, singing, dance, cookery, and so on will help reduce stress, more relaxing in mind and body at school. If students just study and study academics, they will become the bookish people.
On the other hand, there are many young people in Vietnam and over the world chose and succeed in non-academics. For instance, Anh Vien in swimming, Justin Bieber in singing, Messi in playing football, Luke Nguyen in cookery and so on. When students learn non-academic subjects, they can find out the hidden ability in order to know exactly their passion. In modern life, academic fields are not the only road for future development of adolescents. They can good as singer, painter, a chef in the future, without a doctor, engineer, teacher or another one.
In conclusion, while some people believe that the exclusion of non-academics is good for students, I have no doubt that it will be better if students can be learning both academic and non-academics subjects.
