Some people believe that we cannot learn anything from the past for our life today, while others believe that history is a valuable source of information to understand human’s life.
Discuss both views and give your opinion. Some people suppose that there is no mean learning from the past, while others believe that the past plays an integral role in recent life. In my opinion, I lay my thoughts alongside the second idea.
To begin with, there is one main reason why history is no longer a useful lesson for young generation. It is waste of time to keep studying all the historical events. We cannot change the past, therefore learning specific time and what happened in each wars in history lessons does not bring any practical lesson for students. As a result, they do not have enough time to access the new modern technology as well as improve themselves such as general knowledge, soft-skills and their interests.
However, learning from the past is beneficial on some ways. Firstly, failure or mistakes bring us boundless and priceless lessons that even teachers or parents cannot always teach us. Only by knowing the mistakes could we improve and boost ourselves to work harder, so that we could avoid remaking them. For instance, when a Math exam’s score is low, we usually have a chance to look through it again and find out which calculation we did wrong. Thus, in the final exam or more important one, we could do better. Secondly, commemorating the past is a way to respect the world success as well as understand the origin of recent renowned achievement. For instance, every country has their own Independent Day in order to celebrate and to show thankfulness the ancestors who fought for their countries’ freedom.
In conclusion, the past is might useless in some cases, yet from my point of view, I believe that previous time is worth looking back for a better life.Attachments:
