The given bar chart shows the estimated amount of oil produced in a day in six different middle eastern countries from 1990 to 2010.
As can be seen, the oil output, measured in millions of barrels per day, tended to grow over this 20-year period. The figures for Saudi Arabia were highest and around three times as high as those in other countries. Qatar, on the other hand, had the lowest numbers of production.
There was a significant increase in oil production in Saudi Arabia between 1990 and 2010. Approximately 9 million barrels were produced in 1990. The figures went up steadily over the studied period and reached a peak in 2010, at nearly 15 million barrels. In contrast, the production in Qatar was less than 1 million barrels per day in 1990. The figures remained stable in the following years, despite of a slight rise in 2000.
The other countries including Iran, Iraq, Kuwait and the UAE saw a slight increase in oil production over the researched course of time. To be more detailed, the figure for Iran was over 3 million barrels per day in 1990, compared with about 2 million barrels in the other three countries. While Iraq, Kuwait and the UAE achieved the similar oil production in the last year recorded, at under 4 million barrels, the number of barrels for Iran was a bit higher, at over 4 million.
