The given bar chart compares top five popular mobile brands in terms of global sales in millions from 2009 to 2013.
Overall, both Nokia and LG showed a downward trend, while Samsung, Apple and ZTE witnessed a sharp rise in sales all over the world throughout the surveyed period. It is also noticed that the figures for Samsung as well as Nokia were regularly higher than those of other bands.
In 2009, Nokia sold approximately 450 million mobiles, which was nearly doubled than mobile consumption of Samsung. In the next two years, Samsung saw a significant increase in sales, with a jump of around 330 million, while Nokia’s figure went down slightly by 30 million. In the last year of period, Samsung overtook Nokia as by far the best selling in the world, reaching to above 450 million, furthermore, Nokia fell suddenly to nearly 350 million units, becoming the second popular mobile phone brand.
The other top three selling mobile brand involved LG, ZTE and Apple are in that order and approximately similar (between 10 and 110 million units) in the 2009. In the remainder of the period shown, both Apple and ZTE showed a considerable upward trend in selling mobile, with around 130 million and above 50 million in 2013 respectively, whereas LG decreased sharply by 60 million mobiles sale from 90 million in 2011.Attachments:
