The pie charts demonstrate the housing owned and rented in the United Kingdom in 1991 and 2007 in percentage term.
In 1991, there were 22 million homes in total. Home owner was the most popular type of housing, accounting for more than half of total homes number. The next largest sector was social rented house, at about 20%. The remaining types of homes were private and social renting housing representatively.
Six years later, in 2007, the number of homes in UK has risen to 27 million. Home ownership witnessed an increase, making up about nearly three-forth of all homes. Social renting housing declined, which is as much as private renting one that had been remaining consistently from 1991.
