Question: Some people think that university should not provide theoretical knowledge, but to give practical training that is beneficial to society. Do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, universities are one of the ideal places for students to expand the knowledge of each field, which they are studying. Therefore, both the knowledge of theory and practical social training are very necessary for future careers. However, several people believe that theoretical knowledge should be discontinued in order to focus more on practical training, which will be very lucrative in everyday life. In fact, this issue is quite complex, so it must be taken into consideration carefully.On the one hand, the acquisition of theoretical knowledge will be an important stepping stone before practical training. Students must master a good theory curriculum to be able to train in practice. Besides, providing theoretical knowledge in a methodical manner will help students to perform better activities in practice. For example, when encountering a certain problem, the theoretical information is required to be able to easily solve it instead of struggling to handle something without any knowledge. Without the theory, it would be difficult to train practically. The more mastery the knowledge is, the more successful and effective practical activities will become.
On the other hand, practical training will play an important role at universities since it aims to serve students’ future lives better. Theories are just things in books and lectures, if they are not applied to life, they will not be of any benefit. So when students receive a lot of practical training, they will gradually become proficient in applying theoretical knowledge to their society. Having practical training programs will make students practice many skills such as grasping abilities, reflexes in situations or confidence before graduation. Moreover, practical training is also an effectual option to obtain useful experiences which cannot be learned in books. For example, students majoring in medicine, they will have internships at hospitals or clinics to accumulate experience after the examination and treatment for patients.
In short, with above-mentioned things, both learning from theoretical knowledge and practical training are beneficial for students in their life. I think it will be more helpful a lot for students when both theory and practical training go hand in hand at universities.
