The costs of international travel are decreasing and tourism is growing. What are the advantages and disadvantages of increasing tourism activity in different countries?

With the increasing demand for travelling of everybody, it is agreed that tourism activities are more and more developing together with the decrease in the expenses of travelling. Although lots of people see this as a positive trend, it is not a tendency without drawbacks. Both the pros and cons of significant growing tourism industry will be discussed in more details in this essay.
On the one hand, there is a wide range of reasons why the overwhelming majority of people tend to go travelling in recent years. First of all, the visitors have a chance to experience different customs and cultures such as sunbathing, sight-seeing or tasting local crafts. Therefore, they are able to open their minds and broaden their horizons. Besides, taking a break to get away from it all offers people opportunities to relax and recharge their batteries. Additionally, the tourism industry plays a vital role in the economy of a variety of countries. Tourism not only attracts investment for the government through a huge amount of currency that travellers bring to this country but also creates employment due to the need of goods and services such as hotels or entertainment. As a result, tourism helps to improve the standard of living.
Apart from the benefits, tourism still has negative impacts on the environment, local traditions and other fields. Firstly, building roads and hotels spoils the landscape which destroys the natural habitats and unaware tourists create pollution and waste. For instance, a range of forests was damaged by loads of plastic rubbish, which can not be recycled by nature for decades thrown way intentionally or unintentionally by visitors. In addition, local habitants take advantage of tourism to cause a rise in the prices of goods and services. Thus, every year, plenty of sightseers is forced to buy souvenirs or book hotels with expensive costs.
In conclusion, the tourism industry is greatly beneficial to the daily life and the improvement of the economy in each country. However, there are remaining disadvantages about environment visitors to tackle.
