The diagrams below show the life cycle of the silkworm and the stages in the production of silk cloth.

The flow charts provide information about the stages in the lives of silkworms and how silk cloth is produced.
Overall, there are four steps in the life cycle of the silkworms beginning with eggs laid and ending with silkworms become moths. The second process includes five stages, beginning with selecting silk thread shells and ending with dying product.
The life cycle of silkworms begins from the eggs laid by theirs mother and after 10 days, the silkworm larvae are generated. The silkworm larvae often eats mulberry leaves as food to create silk thread shells in 4-6 weeks. The third stage is completed in 3-8 days, when these silk shells create circle cocoons. The cocoon-stage lasts 16 days and they hatch moth in the last step. During the time of moths lives and the process is performed again.
The second picture begins with the silk thread shells are selected and boiled into water in the second stage. After the thread are unwinded and they are 300-900m long, these unwinded silk thread are twisted and dyed in the fifth step. And finally, to product silk clothes, the dyed twisted silk thread are weaved into fabric.
