Some people say that it is better for young people to follow the traditions of society. However, others believe that it is better to follow one’s own ideas and ways of living. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Traditional society plays important role in our culture and identity that young citizens should improve and develop it. While it is true that young generations should follow this trend due to some reasons, I believe that young people could follow their ideas and ways of living for the following justifications.
On the one hand, there are a variety of reasons why young people should obey their conventional society. The first clear reason would be that since young generations accept and follow the rules and directions from elderly people, young people could form good manners with others as well as respect older family members. To illustrate, children are taught at school that they have to respect and follow the instructions of their parents and grandparents to become a well-behavior individual. Another reason for this view is that young individuals could take pride in their culture and identity on the grounds that they are respect and follow their conventional society. As a consequence, young people enhance patriotism and introduce their own culture to friends from many parts of the world.
On the other hand, it is indisputable that young people could follow their own ideas and ways of living in the light of obvious benefits. First and foremost, our world is changing every single day, which requires young people to update and revoke out of date traditions to develop current society much more effectively and suitably. For example, children nowadays have to study more languages to find golden opportunities to study abroad and work for international corporations. Additionally, upgrading their old culture is a positive method to generalize their society, which allows young people to have chance to develop national tourism, especially foreign travelers. For example, we have to adjust our traditional foods to appropriate with many people such as reducing smell of fish sauce and learning how to use knives and forks to serve foreign customers.
In conclusion, maintaining conventional society is necessary for young generations to some extent; however, I believe that young people could update and follow their new ideas and ways of living to develop our nations.
