Some people think all lawbreakers should be put into prison, while others believe that there are better alternatives. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
People have different views about taking punishment forms against offenders. Whilst some people argue that the government should send criminals to prisons, I believe that solution seems to be not workable and the authority is advised to adopt other more effective methods.
On the one hand, there is a common belief that the government is recommended to put wrongdoers into jails because of two major reasons. Firstly, that policy plays an important role in guaranteeing the safety of the society. A clear illustration is that if lawbreakers are not thrown into prisons, they can pose detrimental threats to innocent residents. Secondly, sending criminals to jails acts as a deterrent to people who have the intention to break the law. For instance, those individuals perceive that unlawful activities have potential consequences. In this case, they are imperative to obey the law.
On the other hand, I would strongly endorse that the authority should come up with other more perfect solutions to treat offenders instead of throwing them into jails. The first supporting point for this view is that the policy of prison sentences can extremely harm the future and the life of wrongdoers. For example, it can be enormous challenges for ex-prisoners to seek good jobs because of their bad profile. Moreover, in my opinion, it would be better if the government can implement alternatively key methods to treat criminals, such as imposing financial or public labour penalties, all of which not only provide enormous benefits to the community but also foster human values
In conclusion, although there are some reasonable reasons in favour of imposing jail sentences, it seems to me that the authority should find other alternatively perfect solutions to treat wrongdoers
