Topic 2: Some people think that school children need to learn practical skills such as car maintenance or bank account management along with the academic subjects at school.
In knowledge economy, people place a premium on practical skills that school children need to obtain along with academic subject. In my opinion, it is necessary that learners should widen their skills ranging from theoretical to practical skills. This essay will give information on various useful roles of practical learning, followed by summarized conclusion.
Firstly, the practical skills help learners better handle their life. These practical skills which are daily used or in emergency, help the kids tackle with many problems with speech by themselves, therefore, the kids become more mature and independent. For instance, managing their own bank account make them feel responsible to value of money that they earn and learn how to save money.
Secondly, practical skills along with academic knowledge make learners be well prepared for working market. Being equipped with practical skills, they easily find a job or start their own career if someone don’t have intention to pursue higher education. For example, a senior high school student having skills in car maintenance can be hired in a garage during summer or become a repair man after finishing their study.
