Many museums and historical sites are mainly visited by tourists but not local people. Why is this the case, and what can be done to attract more local people to visit these places.

A wide range of museum and historical places only attract tourists instead of residents living nearby. This trend happens because of some reasons and, effective solutions should be produced to deal with that issue.

There are some rationales why a large number of museum and historical sites capture the attention of tourists rather than local residents. Firstly, Because local residents are already familiar with attractions in their areas, they lose their interests in those places. Secondly, since local people know about their cultures and traditions, they do not need to go to museums to learn. Finally, historical sites are designed to mainly serve tourists, which correlates with the fact that the prices of tickets or services are high. As a result, local people are not willing to pay money for visiting those places

Some actions should be taken to tackle this problem. The first solution is that the government need to make these places become newer. For example, the authority can re-decorate these places or add new features. Additionally, government leaders should frequently organise special events such as mid-autumn celebration or new year festival, all of which play an important role in attracting local residents. The final solution is that the state can offer discounts for local people, which can encourage local people to visit these sites.

In conclusion, There are some reasons why the visitors of most of the museum and historical places are tourists instead of people living nearby ,and the government need to come up with solutions to that problem.
