The line chart compares the numbers f products moved by four different means of transport, namely road, water, rail and pipeline in the UK from 1974 to 2002.
It is clear that the quantity of goods transported by road was highest between 1974 to 2002. Additionally, the figure for items carried by pipeline was by far lowest during the research period.
In 1974, the number of products transported by road was highest, at about 70 million tonnes, while the figure for rail was lower, at 40 million tonnes. There were approximately 40 million tonnes of products transported by water, compared to about 5 million tonnes goods carried by pipeline.
In 2002, the quantity of goods transported by road sharply rose to around 100 million tonnes. Similarly, there was an increase to more than 60 million tonnes in the number of items moved by water. Pipeline saw a slight increase to about 20 million tonnes in the number of goods moved, whereas the figure for rail remains stable at 40 million tonnes.Hi, thank u for trusting our essay correction service :D
