In recent years, there has been a growing tendency for cross-country travel. With regard to travellers and the host countries, although this trend is deleterious to a certain extent, I personally concur that the merits would eclipse the downsides.
On the one hand, there are some aspects of global travel which raise cause for concern. Regarding the tourists themselves, when setting foot on tourist traps in areas riddled with poverty or having loose state management, foreign visitors may be under potential threat of social evils such as rip-off, robbery and pickpocket, that make them fall into sticky situations. To illustrate, not only can victims of such malpractices be cheated out of money, but also lose important personal belongings like passport or other travel documents. In terms of host destination, in order to meet the increasing demand for travel-related services, large numbers of hotel, resorts and restaurants are constructed, replacing traditional housing, fields and gardens. Consequently, that makes a change in indigenous people’s routine life and regional characters, which, in turn, erodes their cultures.
On the other hand, such above issues are trivial compared to great benefits they gain from international travel. First and foremost, travelling abroad provides people with a variety of new experiences of diverse culture as well as opportunities to contemplate breathtaking view. If taking an oversea vacation, outbound tourists will stand a decent chance to enjoy exotic cuisine, mingle with local inhabitants and dig deep into their cultures, while admiring the natural beauty and traditional architecture there. Furthermore, the more attraction foreigners have to a country, the more opportunities to develop the tourism industry it stands. To illustrate, owning a lot of well-travelled places namely Halong Bay, Da Nang city, Vietnam are receiving huge sums of money from investors, national and international alike, to construct infrastructure serving tourism.
In conclusion, for aforementioned arguments, I advocate that the advantages of worldwide travel outweigh the drawbacks.
