Nowadays, children tend to stay partly with their grandparents; which makes them not have time taken for their grandparents. From my point of view, this tendency has both pros and cons to kids.
To begin with, personally, the unique benefit brought by that trend is giving children more chances to grow up. Indeed, almost every grandparent is too partial towards their grandchildren. Thus, they never let kids do anything, but just focusing on pleasing children, which can totally cause many dreadful consequences such as spoiling kid’s personality and letting them be arrogant when getting older. By contrast, living without grandparent, they must stay with their parents who are younger and may know more about the better ways to foster and educate children. Furthermore, every parent tends to be stricter than grandparents, which makes kids more reasonable.
However, despite a significant advantage, this trend also causes a number of disadvantages. Firstly, living without upper generation, lower generation tends to give up special traditions. In this way, children and many later generations will hard to know and continue family traditions. In addition, in modern families, parents usually spend too much time on work and have less time to be with their kids. Thus, unless having grandparents children tend to lack of being cared and loved, which effects negatively to their personality and psychology.
In conclusion, grandparents should still live with their grandchildren to have more time to take care of grandkids. However, they must consider more about the behavior toward their grandchildren.
