taking care old people

Nowadays, because of the great development of medicine, people have a longer life expectancy, which leads to a significant burden about taking care of the elderly. Thus, it is argued that nursing old people is the role of family or government. Personally, both of them should have responsibility on this work.
To begin with, there are various reasons why I strongly assert that nursing old people must be done by family members. Initially, taking care of the elderly is an obligated thing for the younger, as these elderly members are grandparents or even parents in family, who have already spent almost their life on nurturing and made too many sacrifices for the younger generation. Therefore, it is not wrong if the young must take time to care their parents and grandparents. Secondly, in some countries especially in Eastern nations, taking care the older is the important responsibility for the younger as that is their tradition, whole society conception and may be their law.
However, nursing old people have its individual difficulties which must be supported by governments. Firstly, the cost of taking care of the elderly is high. Nevertheless, in some humble financial family, even money paid for food is insufficient, so it is impossible to pay to nurse old members who are out of ability on earning money. Thus, governments should help these families financially. Secondly, in some special cases, people give their youth to support country, so they deserve to be cared by their nation in the ending time of their life. For example, Viet Nam during wartime, many people sacrificed and fought to take the national freedom back from aggressive enemies. Therefore, when getting old, they worth being help back from governments.
In conclusion, old people have already spent their life on building current world, so taking care of them is responsibility toward both family and governments.
