The pie charts illustrate the distribution of monthly income on various items in two income groups in a European nation.
Overall, food and drink and fuel bills account for the greatest amount of expenditures of total household, while in high income group, the largest percentage belongs to miscellaneous items. Moreover, the expenditure coming from clothing in both groups is negligible amount of total budget.
In the low income group, households spend most of their monthly salary on basic products, food and drink, at under 30%, while miscellaneous items comprise the most considerable part of high income household, at over 20%. In addition, the spending on clothing is the same in both groups, at about 5% on average.
People having high income, spend 5% more on miscellaneous items than their counterparts in the low income group. Also, the expenditures of transport and fuel bills in high income households are 18%, while it is double for the another with 33%. The low income households spend least portion of their budget on restaurant and hotel, at only 4%, while those in high income group pay three times that amount. In terms of recreational and cultural activities, the figure for high income people is twice as much as that of the low income group, at 21% and 11%, respectively.
