1. In many countries, average life expectancy has been increasing. What problems will this cause for individuals and for society as a whole? Suggest some solutions.

It is true that thanks to the advances of technology, people’s lifespan is also grow up. There are several possible consequences of this trend and communities can take steps to tackle the potential problems.
Lifespan of human has increased and several related problems can be anticipated. The main issue is that there are more people of retirement age who will be eligible to receive a pension. Proportion of working adults will be smaller, and governments will therefore receive less money in taxes in relation of the size of the populations. In the other words, working adults will face a greater tax burden. Besides, as older people stop working and their health care needs increase, and the fact associated medical problems will place a heavy burden on young adults.
There are a number of solutions that governments can take to solve the problems described above. Firstly, the simplest solution could be to extend retirement age. Healthy elderly citizens can share their wealth of knowledge with younger generations and can continue to make valuable contributions to society. A second measure would be for governments to encourage immigration in order to increase the number of working adults who pay taxes. Finally, money from national budgets will need to be taken from other areas and spent on vital healthcare, accommodation and transport for the number of growing elderly population.
In conclusion, various measures can be taken to solve the problems that populations of countries growing older have been caused.
