Modern technology has made it easier for individuals to download copyrighted music and books from internet for no charge.
To what extent is this a positive or a negative development.

People download easily music and books which have copyright, from the internet for no payment by modern technology. In my opinions, I think that issue has both positive and negative effects.
The downloading copyright music and books with no charge has some positive effects to the poor. In the poor and developing country, the residents have the high salary to buy copyrighted goods, which is not so much. However, the poor class is majority in country, and they do not have ability to approach copyrighted products without the internet. The internet allows the poor can broaden knowledge of various majors. For example, the poor student is very interested in computer scientist books which is copyrighted, but the pupil does not have money, so the internet help him approach it easily.
However, there are a lot of negative effects when breaking copyrighted laws. Firstly, that effects to the income of creator and author. They spend their times, resources to create a product like music, books, but people use those goods for free, so the authors can not do more creations. In fact, if this situation is still remained, not anymore people want to be a researcher, author, because those jobs do not ensure the standard life for them, at least hand-to-mouth living.
In conclusion, modern technology helps people approach copyrighted goods from the internet for no charge, that has both sides: positive and negative in development. In my opinions, I would argue that breaking copyrighted laws has negative outweigh than positive effects.
