1. The graph below shows UK acid rain emissions, measured in millions of tones, from four different sectors between 1990 and 2007.
The presented line chart illustrates how many million tones of emissions of the acid rain in the UK from transport and communication; electricity, gas and water supply; domestic and other industries from 1991 to 2007.
It is highlighted from the given chart that except transport and communication, which saw a fluctuation, all other categories witnessed downward trends over the surveyed time. Unites are measured in millions of tones.
In detail, at the beginning, the figure for emissions of electricity, gas and water supply stayed well-beyond the others, at 3.3, followed by transport and communication, domestic and other industries, at 0.7, 0.6 and 2.1 respectively at that time. Then, although having some minimal fluctuations, the data of emissions from the supply was four-fold decrease, compared to its value in 1991, resulting in 0.5 whereas the number of emissions from domestic experienced a slight decline by 0.4 during the given timeframe. Thus, while it still remained being the lowest value, the quantity of the supply no longer had the highest value.
Regarding two remaining sectors, although growing minimally by 0.3 in the first 15 years, the data from transport and communication showed a 0.3 fall in its number. Thus, finally, this type had its value in the last year was the same of it at the beginning. Meanwhile, there was a dramatic reduction in the quantity of other industries to approximately 1.2 in 2007.
