Writing task 1: Mixed chart

The line graph shows the growth of economic rate from 1995 to 2010. The pie chart compares the proportion of household expenditure in four years 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2010. Seen together, the figures suggest a proportional trend between the economic rate and the spending of people on clothing, entertainment and traveling.
The initial year saw a main consuming trend on housing, followed by food at the second largest spending. However, in five years later, the figure for food replaced housing as their major expenditure, while the proportion on housing gradually declined to only a quarter of the total spending. Smaller costs were paid for clothing, entertainment and traveling, which stayed nearly the same in both 1995 and 2000. The economic growth also fluctuated slightly throughout the first half period.
In 2005, the rate of economic growth reached its highest point at 4, as a result, people started to pay more attention on fashion, entertainment and tourism, since all these sectors showed a similar upward trend. However, the level of economic growth experienced a notiecable fall to its lowest rate, before climbing again to the initial point in the final year. Unsurprisingly, the pattern of clothing, entertainment and traveling also went back to their initial spending in 2010.
Overall, the figures indicate that when there was a rise in the economic rate, the sales performance of clothing, entertainment and traveling also appear to increase.
