Topic 3 : some peole say that subjects like arts , music, drama and creative writing are more beneficial to children and therefore they need more of these subjects to be included in the timetable. Do you agree or disagree with this view ?
Nowadays , many schools provide extracurricular classes such as art, music , drama or creative writing and students benefit a lot from studying them. Thus, schools should spend more time teaching these subjects. I completely agree with this view.
To begin with , schools should consider to run alongside these subjects with the academic subjects because they help students to become well-rounded. Art, music , drama and creative writing subjects not only enhance their academic skills such as writing or reading skills , but also improve their communication and creative thinking skills which really important for their later life.
The second thing I want to mention is that these extracurricular classes might help pupils to recognize their talent in these fields . Many people have an aptitude in music , drama, writing or painting , but they might never find out that in a general education which often concentrate on academic knowledge. For example, my brother , a singer in a music boyband, would never find out his gift and passion in music if he did not participate in a music class in his school.
Finally , current education system puts a lot of students under pressure because they have to compete with each other to get higher rankings and awards. So these esxtra classes can help them relax and entertain . For instance , after finishing hard – studying subjects like maths or sience, attending a music class might make students fell more comfortable and recharge their battery, so they can study better then.
In conclusion, from the reasons given above, I strongly believe that more extracurricular subjects such as arts, music , drama and creative writing shoud be added in the educational curriculum for the children’s benefits .
