Chữa bài IELTS Task 2
Some people say young people playing eletronic and computer games learn useful skills but some people say young people are wasting their time. Discuss and give opinion.
In modern life, many people and children in particularly spend their leisure time on playing electronic and games online. While some people argue that these games equip them with practical skills, I believe that players can also waste their invaluable time.
On the one hand, there are a variety of reasons why young people spend their time on video, computer – based games. Firstly, these games encourage imagination and creativity as well as concentration, logical thinking and problem solving, all of which are useful skills outside the gaming context. Furthermore, educational video games can teach children educational skills such as photography, biology or computer programming and so on. For example, my little sister uses hours on the internet learning about dinosaurs with vivid images and lively sound.
On the other hand, there are drawbacks when children devote much of their free time to playing electronic and computer games. On reason is that these games can be highly addictive because users are given scores, new targets and frequent reward to keep them playing .Many children are so lured video games that they cannot concentrate on their studying. This results in poor academic performance at school. Another reason is that spending too much time on their computers and mobile phones may lead to health problem for some youngsters. If they keep their eyes glued to screen for hours on end, they may suffer from eye strain and headache.
In conclusion, I would like to argue that video games have more negative effect on children although its benefits helps people to access better opportunities and broaden their knowledge.Attachments:
